Corning has been cited several times by American Style magazine as one of the top 25 small city arts destinations in the U.S. most recently in June 2010.

Corning is full of small town charm… quaint shops, galleries and antique stores line the streets of the Gaffer District. The Gaffer District is known for it’s exceptional shopping, dining, arts and beautifully restored buildings, just steps away from the world famous Corning Museum of Glass. A year-long calendar of festivals and events celebrates decades of tradition including the nationally-recognized wineglass marathon and Glass Fest- a four day celebration of glass and the fire arts in America’s Crystal City. If you want to stay overnight the Radisson is located within walking distance to all the shops and restaurants in the Gaffer District. For some great burgers visit R&M Restaurant and Bar on 101 W. Market Street. They are also known for their homemade rigatoni.
