Children's Bracelets Contain Dangerous Metals

July 22, 2010 Updated Mar 16, 2010 at 2:38 PM EDT

Children's bracelets sold at discount stores could pose a health danger to your children.

The CPSC says The Rudolf The Red-Nosed Reindeer charm bracelets contain high concentrations of Cadmium.

If your child swallowed the charm, that could cause severe health problems.

The bracelets were imported by Buy-Riite Designs, which is no longer in business.

The warning involves Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer brand children’s Christmas and winter-themed bracelets.

The two styles involved in this notice are the Bumble Snowman and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.

The bracelets were sold with winter and Christmas-themed charms including a snowman, Christmas tree, candy cane and snowflake.

The were sold at discount and dollar-type stores between 2006 and for about $1.

You should immediately take these charm bracelets away from children and dispose of the jewelry.
