Peanut Butter Recall - Possible Salmonella

(WBNG Binghamton) Check your spreads before you make your next peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Smucker's is recalling 3,000 jars of its 16 oz. Chunky Peanut Butter because of possible salmonella contamination.

J.M. Smucker Co. says the jars it's recalling would have been purchased in the last week and a half or so.

They have "Best if Used By" dates of Aug. 3, 2012 and Aug. 4, 2012.

The production codes are 1307004 and 1308004.

Another 16,000 jars never left the warehouse.

Smuckers says no illnesses have been reported.

The product was distributed in 24 states including New York and Pennsylvania.
