Toasters & Tealight Holders Recalled

By Lindsey Nesselbush

Tealight holders and toasters that could start a fire make the Action News Recall Alert.

First, Pier 1 Imports is recalling a Silver Square Tealight Candle Holder.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission says it can get too hot, causing the tealights to burn faster and with high flames.

It was sold in Pier 1 stores nationwide from June to December of last year.

Stop using the tealight holder and return it to Pier 1 for a credit or refund.

For more information, call Pier 1 at 800-245-4595.

Also, Hamilton Beach is recalling about 482 thousand toasters.

The CPSC says the toasters can stay on after popping up, posing a fire hazard.

The recall includes Hamilton Beach and Proctor Silex toasters that are black, white, or chrome with 2 or 4 slice openings.

Several, specific, model numbers, are being recalled and can be reveiewed at hamiltonbeach.com.

The toasters were sold in department stores, grocery stores, and home stores nationwide, from August 2007 to February 2008.

You should stop using the toaster and contact Hamilton Beach at 800-574-6800 for a free replacement.
