Slimmer Santa

Slimmer Santa

By WBNG News

It's a big night for Chris Cringle...
He'll be getting a work out.... Lugging all those presents around.
But the old lady is worried about his cholesterol.
"Mrs. Clause has really put me on a diet"
We caught up with Santa at the Oakdale Mall in Johnson City to find out how we can help.
"now instead of just the carrot of the broccoli for the reindeer, Santa would appreciate it if you would leave the same thing for him." Santa says.
The occasional cookie isn't bad, but Santa admits too many sweets over the years has helped him put on the pounds.
"A lot of times I'm tempted and I just have to take a bite of a cookie. I can't help myself. I'm addicted." He says.
Maybe all of us should follow Santa's lead.
"Tis the season to throw your diet out the window but you might want to think twice before you eat all those sweet treats. The average person during this time of year gains one to seven pounds.
So just keep in mind a few things as the holiday season gets into full swing.
"A lot of us let our exercise routines slide during the holiday season so just trying to you know, maintain as much of that as possible." says Colleen Coddington a Registered Nuitritionist.
And what about all those sweet treats we all just love to eat?
Indulging once in a while is alright, but try not to over eat at those holiday gatherings.
Coddington says "try and make sure you have a healthy breakfast and lunch before the party so that you're not going in there starving."
And just remember if Santa can eat healthy during his busiest time of year... any one can.
