Did you make a new Years resolution to eat better?

So as we try to stick to our goal here's a few food bowl recipes to keep in mind.

You've heard of the rose bowl... And of course the super bowl coming up in February...

But theres a way to score with this fruit bowl and this salad bowl too.

"Extra fruits and vegetables add extra fiber to your diet more fiber then if your eating the orange juice or tomato juice. Another point to consider is your brightly colored fruits and vegetables have a lot more fidochemicals and anti-oxidants," says Ellen Fay, Nutrition Manager of the Cornell Cooperative Extension.

And research shows that's what helps fight disease.

So if you made a New Years Resolution to lose weight, or just to eat healthier... heres a challenge.

Working 5 fresh fruits and veggies into your diet everyday.

"A good way to do that is to add extra nutrition to your bowls, whether they be vegetable bowls, salad bowls or fruit bowls," says Fay.

A few variations on your normal snacks as you sit down to the watch the game.

Instead of loading up popcorn with butter... try combining parmesan, chili, garlic and onion power to sprinkle over top.

Even pasta salad can be kicked up a healthier notch.

"To stretch your pasta salad so that your not eating as much pasta try adding extra veggies or lettuce to your pasta," says Fay.

So this year while you watch your favorite team on the field.

Work in those fruits and veggies so you don't fumble on your goal of healthy living.
