Town of Chenango (WBNG Binghamton) The Broome County Sheriff's Office arrested 21 year old Daniel Doherty of Binghamton last night in connection with the death of 27 year old Daniel Martinez.

Martinez's body was found Sunday morning in the Town of Chenango.

Doherty is charged with Second Degree Murder.

Sheriff David Harder says Doherty acted as an accomplice.

The prime suspect, 25 year old Joseph Ross-Jones, was arrested Tuesday.

Sheriff Harder says there may still be more arrests in the case.

Martinez's body was found in a wooded area on Wilson Hill Road.

He had been shot and stabbed, and deputies found a gun.

"We have a group of Detectives at the land fill digging through garbage to see if we can find any leads up there. They're going to be up there for awhile," says Broome County Sheriff, David Harder.

Doherty was arraigned in Town of Chenango court, and is now in the Broome County jail without bail.

Martinez was visiting the area from the Bronx.

Sheriff Harder says the reason he was here, is something they're still looking in to.

Anyone who may have any information is still encouraged to call sheriff's office tip line (607)778-1196.
