Woman Faces Felony Charges After Three Dogs Are Found Dead

Conklin, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A Conklin woman is charged with felony animal cruelty after three dogs are found dead.

On July 4, the New York State Police and the Broome County Humane Society responded to an Animal Cruelty complaint at 200 Shaw Road in Conklin. When troopers and members of the Humane Society arrived they found three dead dogs in crates and 13 extremely malnourished dogs at the residence. Several smaller domestic pets including mice, hamsters, rabbits and birds were also found dead in cages.

Christine M. Macan, 61, of Conklin was arrested and charged with Felony Aggravated Animal Cruelty. Macan was released on an appearance ticket for Town of Conklin Court.

All surviving animals are now in custody of the Broome County Humane Society.
