Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A historic downtown building is turned into a new restaurant and bar. both of which open this week.
The Grand Royale Hotel held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday afternoon to announce the opening of it's re-vamped restaurant: The Royale Kitchen.
In addition to the restaurant, The Mayor's Lounge has been fully stocked for those who are interested in just a cocktail or a before-dinner drink.
Owner and president Nirmal Aujla said one of the main attractions of the hotel, formally Binghamton City Hall, is the Beaux Artes architecture. Aujla noted the history and building alone is sure to draw crowds.
"We have a very famous chef from Boston who will be taking care of the kitchen. We are excited to serve our new menu," Aujla said.
The restaurant features several rooms, each of which offer an intimate setting, as well as space for larger parties.
The Royale Kitchen will serve Italian and American cuisine and will be open Tuesday through Saturday for dinner. Aujla said they hope to add lunch to the menu in the coming weeks.
