Town of Dickinson, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Broome Community College is motivating students to pursue interests in science, math and engineering.

Each year BCC hosts the science fair for students in grades 5 through 12.

It's a forum where students can display their projects and be judged at a regional level by community leaders, professionals in the field of science and technology.

A former contestant will also weigh in this year.

"It provided a platform for me to go on to regional and state competitions and further my interest in the science field and what was so nice was the outreach provided by BCC and the professors that gave me their time and energy and helped me in my projects," says BCC student Katharine Hankin.

This year's fair is scheduled for St Patrick's Day, on Saturday, March 17th.

It's the 10th year of the event.

Students, think about what you'd like to showcase.

The deadline to apply is March 5th.
