(WBNG Binghamton) Binghamton University brothers are heroes after saving a woman from drowning after her car overturns in a creek near their hometown.
On March 6th, Jedidiah and William Lemen were driving to church with family in Mumford near Rochester when they saw a car had overturned in a creek.
The two hopped out of the car and into the water. The driver, a woman, was stuck in the vehicle and water had risen up to her neck.
Jedidiah and William were able to get their hands in the door to pry it open just enough to hold the woman up by her arms, keeping her nose and mouth above the water until emergency crews arrived.
"We were in the right place at the right time. We were happy that everything worked out and be able to help someone who was in that kind of situation. I can't imagine being able in that situation myself and we were just happy to help her," said William Lemen, 19, freshman at BU.
The woman was treated for hypothermia.
The brothers have talked to her through Facebook where she thanked them and said she's doing well.
Both Jedidiah and William are freshman at Binghamton University.
