Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A Binghamton church is vandalized late Thursday night.

Police responded Friday morning to New Heights Ministries Church at the intersection of Riverside and Front streets.

Church officials received a call early Friday morning that damage had been done to the building's exterior.

They found potted plants knocked over, a sign on the front lawn kicked in and a cinder block thrown at a glass window.

Rosemary Simpson, the church's co-pastor, says she has an idea about what instigated the vandalism.

"By process of elimination, the BU bar crawl. I don't know for sure, but the bar crawl was going on last night. If this is what the bar crawl is all about, then it needs to be stopped," said Simpson.

Students who live in the area told the church members that they would help in the investigation by asking around.
