(WBNG Binghamton) A Binghamton man was sentenced in Broome County Court Thursday morning for a crime committed in September 2012.

Joshua Launt, 26, was sentenced to six months in Broome County Jail and five years probation for the death of Ronald Gilbert.

Police said Launt knocked-out 51-year-old Gilbert at a party in Kirkwood two years ago.

Authorities said Gilbert did not receive medical attention and died from brain trauma.

Launt pled guilty to criminally negligent homicide in April of this year.
