Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The vote on whether or not to approve the city's comprehensive plan was postponed during the city council meeting Wednesday night.
Since the public hearing on Blueprint Binghamton was extended, the vote to approve Wednesday would have had to have been unanimous.
Councilman Bill Berg said he had reservations about the plan, and asked that the vote be postponed until the next council meeting.
"There's been a lot of hard work put forth by not just simply our planning committee, but the steering committee for the comprehensive plan and the residents," said Councilwoman Lea Webb. "So the one thing I will say is that the plan, it's not city council's plan, it's not the mayor's plan, it's the community's plan on how we move forward."
The council did approve nearly $2 million in Community Development Block Grant funds.
It was passed by a 4-3 vote. To be decided still, is how and when the money will be specifically spent.
