Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) This weekend parts of downtown Binghamton will transform into an outdoor concert venue. Blues on the Bridge returns for its 12th year showcasing local talent.
In years past, Blues on the Bridge brought hundreds of people downtown to enjoy music and dancing.
Riverside Drive will be closed off from Washington Street to the end of Memorial Bridge to host live music and more than 100 vendors.
13 local bands will perform this Sunday.
Founder of Blues on the Bridge said this year they had to turn away large bands from out of the area to make sure local talent was highlighted.
"They're the cream of the crop of the area," said founder Donny Wilkins, "They're the best of the best. They play with heart, they're not just playing for the heck of it to make some extra money. They're musicians that love to play."
Live music will be playing for free from 12 to 9 pm. Memorial Bridge will be closed on Sunday starting from 6 am.
