Town of Norwich, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A female body found Wednesday morning is that of missing 51-year-old Krista Kosowsky, according to New York State Police.

State Police and Norwich Police found her body just off abandoned train tracks in the town of Norwich.

Kosowsky had been missing since June 28.

An autopsy revealed no trauma or injuries. The manner and cause of death is still unknown pending toxicology results.

On Wednesday, Norwich Police, New York Forest Rangers and State Police began at approximately 8 a.m. searching the grounds and marshy area north of the Wal-Mart on Route 12.

Kosowsky's car was found Monday in the Wal-Mart parking lot in front of the store's garden center.

Three Norwich police officers and a K-9 found the body of Kosowsky in an area of water next to the railway near the water treatment plant, according to a news release from the Norwich Police Department.

Police say Kosowsky was on her way to work in Clinton on Friday, about 40 miles from her Norwich home, when she went missing.

Strong storms were reported during the time of Kosowsky's disappearance.
