Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Water Street Brewing Co. helped support five women Thursday night who will be heading south next week to walk for a cure.

It's the second year the brewery held their Craft for a Cure event, where 25 percent of their revenue is donated to a team of women from Greene.

The five friends will be participating in the Susan G. Komen walk in Atlanta, an event spanning 60 miles and three days, from October 18th through the 20th.

They will walk this year in memory of their friend who recently lost her battle to breast cancer.

"Everyone knows someone who has been effected by breast cancer, and the GirlZ team approached us last year for help and we are happy to donate again for them," said Michele Bleicherc, Water Street Brewing Co. owner.

The brewery encouraged the community to come downtown for a few brews, good food and camaraderie for a good cause.

"All you have to do is just enjoy yourself and you're donating to an excellent cause, raising money to held research and come up with a cure for breast cancer," explained Bleicherc.

The Atlanta walk is one of 14 three-day events across the country this year. It is expected to draw hundreds of thousands of participants.
