Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Otsiningo Winter Farmer's Market opens in the Metro Center. Action News talks to vendors and customers about the winter location and an upcoming year-round Regional Farmer's Market.
The same Farmer's Market, just at a seasonal location.
It makes customers and vendors wonder how many people could be are missing out on local goods.
"He's like, you want to go to the farmer's market? And we ended up here," said Felicia Klots of Binghamton.
"Usually it takes about a month before everybody realizes that we're here now," said vendor Kevin Gorman of Kirkwood.
Moved inside for the winter months, vendors see much more activity when they're at Otsiningo Park.
"Getting the word out to the people, and saying OK now we're going to be at The Metro Center and making sure that everybody knows we've made that switch takes a little time," said vendor Ann Marie Stone of Maine.
Patiently waiting on the Southern Tier Regional Farmer's Market that Broome County announced will hold vendors year-round in Otsiningo Park.
"They don't have to come find us. If we're in one location 12 months out of the year, they know where to come 12 months out of the year," said Gorman.
"Knowing that they will be there to serve you and provide good food for you and your family," said Stone.
More stability for the vendors, and consistency for the customers.
"But it's a tradition we go like every Saturday morning, it's like "Let's go to the farmer's market," said Klots.
In a temporary location for permanent service.
