Business owner admits to Medicaid fraud

Elmira, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A Southern Tier business owner pleaded guilty in Chemung County Court to bilking Medicaid out of more than $93,000.

According to Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, Shari DeGraw, 50, of Horseheads -- the CEO of Utter Enterprises Inc. and the Medicine Shoppe in Elmira -- submitted bogus medicaid billings for 18 different types of prescription drugs, treatments and supplies she did not purchase from 2005 to 2007.

DeGraw is charged with one count of petit larceny in the fourth degree and will serve five years probation..

Utter Enterprises also pleaded guilty on a county of grand larceny in the second degree.

DeGraw and the company are ordered to pay $93,406.02 in restitution.
