Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A hearing for a suspended Binghamton police captain is pushed back until later this month.

Captian John Shea was due in court this morning, but the Court Clerk tells Action News the meeting was adjourned until May 23, 2012.

Shea was charged with a DWI in March, after the city vehicle he was driving hit a tree on Vestal Ave on the city's southside.

Last month, he plead not guilty.

Shea oversaw the detective division.

He's been suspended from the police department without pay.
