Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A Kirkwood woman accused of taking part in a home invasion and murder in 2009 has requested a new trial.
Ashley Carnevale, 25, of Kirkwood, turned down a plea deal Thursday in Broome County Court.
December the New York Court of Appeals ruled in favor of Carnevale, issuing her a new trial.
Ashley Carnevale was with her husband when they went to a home in Windsor to steal prescription drugs. Anthony Carnevale shot and wounded a man, and killed Jean Clark, who was visiting.
Carnevale has been serving a 15-year prison sentence since her conviction following a bench trial in 2010.
A hearing will come before her next trial, although a date has yet to be set.
