Catholic School Dean Charged With DWI

(WBNG Binghamton) The Dean of a Catholic middle school near Rochester was behind the wheel of a car that hit 3 pedestrians earlier this month.

Daniel Behan is the Dean of the McQuaid Jesuit Middle School in Brighton.

On Saturday, October 8 he was driving on Route 434, near the Tremont Avenue exit.

Behan was arrested by Binghamton Police, and charged with DWI after he struck 3 construction workers in the area.

They were taken to local hospitals to be treated for their injuries.

Behan has held an administrative position within the school since 2005. He joined the faculty in 1990.

A statement from the school extends its sympathies and prayers to those who were injured.

It says Behan is known as quote "an outstanding teacher."

Officials there say they will do everything they can to support and help Behan in what they're calling a difficult time.
