Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce is hosting daily events this week to bring more awareness to its cause and showcase its abilities to help local businesses.

Chamber of Commerce week is held across the nation. On Monday, County Executive Debbie Preston named the week of Sept. 9 - 13 the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce Week in Broome County.

Chamber CEO Lou Santoni said the Greater Binghamton chapter has roughly 900 members and represents more than 50,000 employees.

"Well it's more important for the small businesses rather than the large businesses," Santoni said, "They're looking to make connections, make contact with other businesses, selling their goods and services, and so you see a lot of programs we offer are geared toward small businesses."

The week of events continues from 8 to 10 a.m. Tuesday with a social media seminar at the Metro Center.
