Man Saves Brother from Icy Pond

New Berlin, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A man who fell through an icy Chenango County pond is saved by his own brother before emergency crews make it to the scene.

The New Berlin Fire Department, along with an engine out of South New Berlin, was on the scene of a water rescue Sunday night at the Hunts Pond State Forest.

Four people were out on the ice at Hunts Pond State Forest on Sunday night, according to the fire department. They were fishing, according to officials.

One man fell through and was pulled out by his brother. By the time EMS crews arrived, everyone was safely out of the water.

Two were taken to Chenango Memorial Hospital. No serious injuries were reported.
