Conklin woman sentenced after animal abuse case

Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A Conklin woman who pleaded guilty to animal cruelty was sentenced to probation. Christine Macan will serve three years of probation.

Macan appeared Tuesday morning in Broome County Court.

In July 2012, Macan was arrested after three dogs were found dead in her home in Conklin.

An additional 13 dogs were found extremely malnourished and several smaller animals were also found dead in cages.

Macan's charge was dropped to a misdemeanor of failure to provide proper sustenance.

During the three years probation, she's not allowed to have any animals.
