Nichols, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Two country legends took the stage at Tioga Downs Thursday and it was all to support local veterans.

Pam Tillis and Lorrie Morgan performed their hits as part of Tioga Downs' annual effort to raise money for the Southern Tier Veterans Support Group.

Tioga Downs owner Jeff Gural said veterans have been getting a "raw deal" from the country and it's his way of giving back.

"Their (veterans') unemployment rate is higher, their homeless rate is higher, and this group here is helping guys and girls in the Binghamton area and Southern Tier, and I thought it was a good way to give back to the community," said Gural, who's also the chairman of American Racing and Entertainment.

"It's huge for us.This is a big fundraiser for us," said Al Eaton, president of the Southern Tier Veterans Support Group. "Obviously you need money to help veterans and families, and this is probably one of our biggest fundraisers."

This is the third year for the concert fundraiser.

Gural donated an additional $10 for every ticket sold to the group.
