(WBNG Binghamton) The Broome County executive's communication coordinator accused of driving drunk and crashing his car earlier this year has resigned.

Jim Worhach submitted his letter of resignation last Tuesday.

He had been suspended without pay since pleading not guilty to one count of driving while intoxicated.

Worhach was indicted in August for driving while intoxicated and causing personal property damage for an incident back in March.

The charge is a felony because of a previous alcohol-related conviction in 2005.

Worhach was the appointed communications coordinator for County Executive Debbie Preston.
