Towanda, PA (WBNG Binghamton) After 4 years, an arrest is made in the shooting and killing of a Bradford County couple.

73 year old John DeSisti was arraigned at Pennsylvania State Police Barracks Wednesday afternoon.

He's charged with the 2006 murders of David and Carol Keeffe.

John DeSisti, 73, left the Pennsylvania State Police Barracks in Towanda in handcuffs Wednesday.

He was formally arraigned at the Barracks and sent straight to the Bradford County Correctional Facility without bail.

The couple was found dead by their daughter at their home in Athens Township in November 2006. They were gunned down with a shotgun.

Pennsylvania State Police say the couple were murdered ambush style in their garage after they came home after a night out.

Investigators say they believe DeSisti murdered the Keeffes because of a long-running land dispute.

A grand jury listened to testimony in the case dating back to March 2009. It made a recommendation that DeSisti be charged with the two murders.

David Keeffe was a well known attorney in the Twin Tiers. He was president of the Bradford County Bar Association. His family law firm, DeSisti and Keeffe, practiced in New York and Pennsylvania.

DeSisti lives in Waverly, New York.

He is charged with 2 counts of murder for the deaths of David and Carol Keeffe. He also faces 1 count of burglary.
