Crash leads to drugs, weapons arrest

Town of Franklin, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Drugs and guns are uncovered after a one car property damage accident in Delaware County.

Now a Walton man is behind bars.

The Delaware County Sheriff's Office arrested Rafael L. Macken Tuesday morning after an accident on County Highway 14 in the Town of Franklin.

Deputies, with the help of state and village of Sidney police, found a .22 caliber handgun and silencer inside Macken's vehicle, along with a switchblade, metal knuckle knives, a number of controlled substances and marijuana.

Macken was charged with multiple counts of criminal possession of a weapon, unlawful possession of marijuana and failure to keep right.

He was arraigned in the Town of Franklin Court and was taken to the Delaware County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $25,000 bond.
