DEC Extends Comment Period for IBM Gun Club Clean Up

James Little of the Western Broome Environmental Stakeholders Coalition (WBESC) started knocking on doors to let Endwell residents know about the new DEC clean up plan in the Town of Union.

Town of Union, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Department of Environmental Conservation has extended the public review period for their clean up plan of the IBM Gun Club Burn Pit.

The public will now have the opportunity to review the plan until December 15.

Action News aired a story on Oct. 18 about the DEC's new notification system, and interviews with residents who said they had not heard of the new plan.

The DEC used to mail notices out to surrounding communities. but now residents need to sign up online or call to stay on the mailing list.
