(WBNG Binghamton) Jury selection is postponed once again in the trial of a Waverly man accused of killing his cousin and her husband in 2006.

Jury selection for John DeSisti, 75, was slated to start Monday morning in Bradford County Court.

It has now been pushed back and is scheduled to begin on May 7.

The delay comes after DeSisti's lawyer asked for a mental evaluation to be conducted.

On May 11th, there is a competency hearing scheduled for DeSisti, but if the hearing can't be moved up before the May 7th jury selection, the court says it will most likely have to postpone jury selection yet again.

DeSisti is accused of shooting his cousin Carol and her husband David Keefe in 2006 with a .22 caliber gun in their Athens Township, PA garage.

They owned land next to DeSisti in Waverly.
