Searching for suspect in shooting (with photos)

Newfield, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Tompkins County Sheriff's Office has identified, but is continuing to search for the man they believe shot two others.

The sheriff's office is looking for Donnell Harrison, 35 of Barnes Hill Road in Newfield.

According to the sheriff's office, deputies responded just before 1 p.m. Tuesday for a reported shooting at a trailer park located at 150 Depot Way. Two men who had been shot, although their injuries were minor and non life-threatening.

The victims are identified as Cory Heffron, 26, and Matthew Dewey, 27, both of Newfield. They were listed in stable condition Wednesday morning.

When asked about the area, neighbor Mike Jolly said he never expected a shooting to take place just outside his back door.

"Especially this area, there's no kids ... It's just a quiet area," he said.

The superintendent of the Newfield Central School District said the schools were locked down 1:45 p.m. to 2:40 p.m. as a result.

The Sheriff's Office is being assisted by New York State Police and the Ithaca City Police Department.
