Endicott, NY (WBNG-Binghamton) Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo, D-Endwell, announced she will be running for re-election this fall.

The announcement was made Thursday night at her annual Blues & Barbeque fundraiser held at the En-joie Golf Course. More than 200 supporters and friends attended the event.

Lupardo said although she has been able to accomplish a lot over the past eight years, she still has big plans for the Southern Tier.

"I am constantly fighting for the interest of the Southern Tier, which are often over looked. So by partnering with my colleagues, I think we have been able to accomplish some good things but we can do an awful lot more," said Lupardo.

Lupardo said she wants to continue to work on children and family issues, focusing on early learning and after school programs.

"I am very proud of the work I have been able to accomplish. One of the things I have tried very hard to do is to work in a bipartisan fashion across the aisle with my colleagues to try to achieve important goals for our area," said Lupardo.

If re-elected, it would be her sixth term serving as the representative for the 123rd district.
