Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Many had the chance to taste some of the best food and wine from throughout the region Wednesday at the Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park.

There was just one rule to remember.

"As much as they would like the pizza, you can't feed them," said Binghamton Zoo Executive Director Steven Contento.

Wednesday marked a 22nd year for Feast with the Beasts, where some 300 people got a chance to please their palates while taking a stroll through the park.

Nearly 20 area businesses participated in the event.

It's something organizers believe has been crucial to the event's success.

"We've been very gratified by the amount of support local restaurants give to the zoo for this event and it's a nice way to not only showcase the zoo, but also the restaurants themselves. And tonight the weather has cooperated, so it all makes for a perfect scene," said Contento.

There was also a silent auction, featuring signed guitars from Styx and 38 Special.

Proceeds help support the zoo, including its endangered species programs.

Feast with the Beasts is also one of three major fundraisers held during the late summer and early fall seasons.
