Driver ID'd in fatal sanitation truck crash

Union Township, PA (WBNG Binghamton) The name of the driver of a Bradford County sanitation truck who died after being ejected during a rollover crash early Tuesday has been released.

The crash happened at approximately 9:30 a.m. Tuesday on Route 14 at Mill Hill Road in Union Township.

The driver, Gary Jackson, 51, of Roaring Branch, Pa., was attempting to make a left hand turn when the truck to rolled at least once and hit a utility pole. Jackson was thrown from the truck It's not known whether he was wearing a seat belt.

Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash also caused thousands of gallons of raw sewage to spill.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation says nearly 3,000 gallons of raw sewage spilled from the truck.
