Village of Oxford, NY (WBNG Binghamton) An audit revealed that tax payer dollars were not handled properly in the Village of Oxford, according to an audit from State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli’s office.

Results of the audit showed that money in the village's court system was not properly accounted for.

It revealed numerous errors and irregularities in adjudicating traffic tickets, collection and deposit, and reporting to the Justice Court Fund and the Department of Motor Vehicles.

According to DiNapoli's office, $1,325 in collections was recorded but without corresponding deposits.

There were also ten cases of collections totaling $2,520 reported to the DMV as paid, but with no records of receipts.
