Oneonta, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A celebration to kick off the New Year in Otsego County is down to the last minute preparations.

First Night will host new acts and entertainment for five hours on New Year's Eve.

There will be 25 performances within 5 blocks of downtown Oneonta.

More than 40 groups will end the parade at the Foothills Performing Arts Center.

Tickets are $15 and that will get you into any of the performances or acts the entire night.

A group of volunteers make up the First Night Board..

It was established five years ago to keep the tradition from losing community support.

"It's a huge celebration of arts and entertainment in Central New York, and it's really family friendly," said Cassandra Miller, First Night board member.

The Catskill Symphony Orchestra will make its debut First Night appearance.

They will be performing at the Oneonta Theatre and the cost is covered under the general ticket price.

The celebrations start at 5 p.m. and will end with fireworks at 10 p.m. on December 31st.
