Former Broome County assistant pleads guilty

Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A former Broome County spokesman plead guilty to a crime he was accused of committing more than a year ago.

Jim Worhach was charged with DWI, a class E felony, and leaving the scene of an accident.

The charge is a felony because of a previous alcohol-related conviction in 2005.

He was the appointed communications coordinator for County Executive Debbie Preston. Worhach resigned from the county in September 2013.

Sentencing is scheduled for August 27.
