Former soccer league treasurer pleads guilty to stealing $17,400 from organization

Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A former treasurer of the Vestal Recreational Youth Soccer League pleads guilty to grand larceny after admitting to stealing over $17,000 from the organization.

Sandra Scharnikow, 47, of Endicott, admitted that from June 2012 to December 2012, she stole $17,400 while serving as league treasurer.

Scharnikow paid full restitution to the soccer league before entering her plea.

She was released on her own recognizance and will be sentenced in June. Scharnikow could face up to seven years in prison.
