Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton) School is back in session and fall is just a couple of weeks away, but a local club and resort can't wait for skis, slopes and lots of snow.

The Triple Cities Ski Club held their first meeting of the season Thursday night at Brothers 2 in Endicott.

Headlining the meeting were the new co-owners of Greek Peak, John Meier and Marc Stemerman.

Both Stemerman and Meier are from Elmira and they say they've grown up on skis, and on Greek Peak.

The pair purchased the resort approximately 100 days ago, and have already made plans for big changes, including installing the first new lift the Peak has seen in 35 years.

The new fixed-grip high-speed lift is currently under construction.

"This really is more than business, it's personal. We love the place. It's the biggest and best mountain in central New York, and we're putting in a lift to match that," Meier said.

The owners say there's a new groomer that will allow the mountains to be groomed from the bottom up to help keep even snow up and down the slopes.

The pair bought 1,200 pairs of new rental skis and 200 new rental snowboards. They're also in the process of constructing a new tuning area within the resort.

Also new this year, Tracks Pub & Grill, a restaurant will open its doors for the first time in the winter.
