(WBNG Binghamton) Toys for Tots of Greater Binghamton received dozens of toys from the community in their 6th annual Give Back Friday.

The Children's Charity of Greater Binghamton held the event at the Relief Pitcher on Conklin Ave. on November 29.

Toys for Tots is one of the largest toy drives in Broome County.

The event featured a silent auction and raffles.

President of Children's Charity's Jim Worhach said they hold the event because each year the federal and state government give out less assistance to needy families.

"Families have to choose between toys under the tree or food on the table and we don't want a child to go without something special on Christmas day," said Worhach. "Every year more and more families are in need and Toys for Tots needs more and more toys."

Worhach said Children's Charity's' goal is to make sure every child in Broome County wakes up to a gift under their Christmas tree.
