The Broome County Sheriff's Office wants to remind football fans to stay safe during the festivities.

It stresses the importance of having a designated driver no matter where you're celebrating.

Sheriff Harder says a DWI is a serious offense, and It's not worth the risk of injuring someone else.

Also, make sure to keep an eye on those who may have had too much to drink.

"The excitement of the Superbowl people are going to forget time periods, they're just going to just have one drink, they finish one, have another and not think too much because they're at a house party, " says Broome County Sheriff David Harder.

Sheriff Harder also adds that weather is a factor to consider.

Any rain or snow could make evening driving harder.

Last year, State Police along the Thruway made 30 DWI arrests, and issued more than 13 hundred tickets over Super Bowl weekend.
