Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Broome County Habitat for Humanity shares its accomplishments of last year, and its plans for this one.

Executive Director Amy Winans was this week's guest speaker at Binghamton Rotary Lunch.

Winans explained that 2012 was different than most years.

Normally, the organization focuses on one or two families a year, but with the flood in 2011 they decided to take a year off from their normal mission.

Winans said, "instead of focusing on the construction aspect for those couple of families, we needed to reach out, and make a wider impact, in response to the flood."

Broome County Habitat for Humanity partnered with local service groups to help flood recovery over the past year.

They are looking to get back on track for 2013 and they already have two families lined up for home ownership opportunities.
