IPD: Man choked during home robbery

Ithaca, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Ithaca Police are searching for two men in connection with a robbery Wednesday morning..

According to officers, the two suspects knocked on apartment door, located in the 300 block of Floral Avenue, around 4:30 a.m.

When the man inside answered the door, one of the suspects pointed a gun at him and forced their way into his apartment.

When police interviewed the man in the apartment, he said one of the suspects choked him while the other retrieved two safes from the apartment. The safes contained an undisclosed amount of cash.

The man told police the two suspects tried to tie him up, but were unsuccessful, so they forced him into a bathroom instead.

The resident then told police he left the bathroom and called authorities after not hearing the voices of the two men for a short period of time.

According to police, one suspect is described as a black male, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. The other is a male of unknown race, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt.
