Port Crane, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Flames engulf a Town of Fenton home all afternoon leaving a family of four without a home.

The call came in around noon Thursday to the Port Crane Fire Department.

Three people were home at the time of the fire; they all made it out safely.

Firefighters tell Action News, when they arrived, the house was fully engulfed, with flames shooting from the roof.

Port Crane Fire Chief says there was a little bit of a communication gap, because the people who got out of the house had left their cell phones inside. They had to wait for someone driving by to call the fire in.

"We had multiple agencies respond for mutual aide, we have Hillcrest, Five Mile Point, Sanitaria Spring, Chenango Forks, multiple agencies, and Broome Ambulance was here standing by in case of injury," says Port Crane Fire Chief Kevin Kresge.

This fire is still under investigation.
