Hurricane Irene: Power Outages

(WBNG Binghamton) The New York State Electric and Gas website is reporting power outages across the region.

NYSEG's website reports 129,036 customers without power in its service area. That includes 6,351 in Binghamton area, 4,730 in Chenango and Delaware County, 7,626.

NYSEG's website reports 130,293 customers without power in its service area. That includes 6,706 in Binghamton area, 4,862 in Chenango and Delaware County, 8,014.

NYSEG's website reports 131,447 customers without power in its service area. That includes 6,707 in Binghamton area, 4,978 in Chenango and Delaware County, 8,559.

NYSEG's website reports 129,000 customers without power in its service area. That includes 6,721 in Binghamton area, 4,912 in Chenango and Delaware County, 8,434.

NYSEG's website reports 120,000 customers without power in its service area. That includes 7,538 in Binghamton area, 4,336 in Chenango and Delaware County, 7,338.

A NYSEG spokesperson says the damage to its delivery system is extensive. The first priority is to make all downed wires safe. It is also conducting a damage assessment.

The assessment will help NYSEG determine estimates to restore power.

That information will be posted at nyseg.com when the estimates become available.

Power outage reports grew to 117, 512 customers.

NYSEG website reports 107,695 customers without power in its service area. In Broome County, the number is 7,712. In Chenango County 3,570 and Delaware County 4,547

According to New York Governor's Office, New York State Electric & Gas has 82,000 customers without power. That includes 7,800 in BInghamton area, 6,200 in Oneonta, and 2,000 in Elmira.

As of Sunday at 7:00 am, outages were reported Broome County affecting 2,650 customers. The majority were in the The Town of Union with more than 1,700 customers affected.

Other counties in the Southern Tier viewing area reporting outages as of Sunday morning include Chemung, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, and Otsego, and Tioga.

As of Sunday morning, Delaware County had 995 customers without power, mostly in the Colchester and Hancock areas.
