(WBNG Binghamton) A Vestal man is indicted on a manslaughter charge for the death of his 16-year-old girlfriend.
On July 24, 2012, the Broome County Grand Jury handed up an indictment against Steven Lipka, 20, of Vestal, New York, charging him with Manslaughter in the First Degree.
The indictment alleges on or about June 14, 2012 in the Town of Vestal, with the intent to cause serious physical injury to another person, Lipka caused the death of Shelby Jenkins, 16, of Vestal.
Jenkins was found dead on June 14 at 199 Westland Road in Vestal. An autopsy determined she was strangled.
Vestal Police Department and New York State Police investigated the case. Joann Rose Parry, Chief Assistant District Attorney, is prosecuting the case.
