Now, a man said to be a major drug dealer in Otsego County could face 15 years to life in prison, if convicted.
Otsego County deputies arrested 43-year-old Steven Rochelle Belton Tuesday night after a month long investigation.
A search of his Town of Oneonta apartment yielded $800 in heroin, $400 worth of marijuana, more than $14,000 in cash and three electronic digital scales.
Belton is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree, a felony. He is also charged with two misdemeanors--Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree, criminal possession of marijuana in the fifth degree, and criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree.
Deputies said Belton also has two previous felony drug charges.
He was arraigned this morning in Oneonta Town Court and taken to the Otsego County Jail without bail.
