Kirkwood, NY (WBNG Binghamton) More than 3,000 jobs are available within 50 miles of Binghamton and Broome County Executive Debbie Preston is welcoming anyone for hire.
Preston announced a $112,000 grant through the Federal Disability Employment Initiative to be used for training programs in the area.
The Broome/Tioga Workforce offers a number of free training programs and job placement.

Many of the current employees were hired through the Broome/Tioga Workforce.
"For anyone who's willing and able to work we can train you to enter into a field where you can develop your skills and advance your career," Preston said.
Along with new job placement some of the programs being offered help to teach new or updated skills.
"You may have been doing something your whole life and now you've got to change careers but it can be exciting because now we can give you the training for a new career and I think that would be so exciting to start a new career," Preston said.
According to the state labor commissioner, more than 1 million people were hired in 2012 through state labor programs.
Of those, 25 percent were hired in New York State.
