John Shea Back in Court

(WBNG Binghamton) A former Binghamton Police Captain returns to court to answer to a new charge.

John Shea plead guilty to Official Misconduct.

The police department was unable to comment on what led to the charge.

He appeared in Binghamton City Court on November 14.

Shea was sentenced to 1 year conditional discharge and had to pay $1,900 in restitution, along with a $1,000 fine.

On March 18th Shea ran a city car into a tree.

He was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and possession of an open container in a vehicle.

He plead guilty to a lesser charge and retired.
